Check this out; There are 114 million households in America. If half those households take $500 they would normally spend on Chinese products and instead purchased the same goods from any other country, China would lose $30 billion dollars in exports and America's trade deficit with China ($321 billion dollars) would drop by almost 10%.

If half the 150 million households in Europe do the same, China would suffer an additional export loss of over %15 and $36 billion dollars would disappear from Europe's trade deficit with China.

Why do this? China exports harmful and deadly goods because they refuse to create enforceable standards for product safety, quality control or environmental protection. While China's "Bare Bones" manufacturing saves us a few dollars on toasters, they're also creating a global environmental crisis of monumental human and financial cost; a crisis so large in scale, it constitutes a Global Human Rights Abuse.

Netherlands' Environmental Agency now designates China as the world's number one source of carbon dioxide. 16 of the world's 20 most polluted cities are in China. China's pollutants are now a measurable part of California's daily pollution and China's brown pollution plume is visible from space as a 3 km thick haze of dust, sulfur, nitrates and other chemicals. Birth defects in China have increased by nearly 40 percent and a baby with defects is born every 30 seconds in China.

It is time to change the way China manufactures. In the same way you exercise your power every day to eat healthy food, drive non-polluting vehicles and support pollution free processes, you can also exercise your power to buy products NOT MADE IN CHINA by joining the Power of Peace initiative, NOT Made In China (NMIC) .

1. DON'T BUY PRODUCTS MADE IN CHINA: By impacting the Chinese government in the one place that matters the most ? their pockets, we outflank our politicians who haven't the will to attack the issue. The Chinese government can't boycott POP. It can't invade and suppress the POP. Working together, we send a clear message to the Chinese government to make significant, enforceable, changes to the manufacturing process and the environment or we will further impact their economy by expanding the boycott.

2. WE'RE LOBBYING CONGRESS TO MANDATE PUBLISHING COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: When you buy on the net, you don't get to look at the label, and most companies don't want you to. We are meeting with politicians in Washington right now because you have a right to know where your products are made. Help us lobby congress now to mandate that every product for sale online and in printed catalogs, is clearly labeled with the product's Country of Origin. 3. SEND LETTERS TO RETAILERS, WHOLESALERS AND MANUFACTURERS: Send manufacturers letters demanding that they assume responsibility for this global crisis by immediately implementing tighter controls throughout the manufacturing process in China.
